So you have finally decided to buy that used WRX STI for Sale that you have been saving up for and you are making your way to the car dealers. There are certain things that you have to look out for before you make a purchase on that car.
The first thing to check for is if the car has a service record and do a Vehicle Identification Number research
It is important to check whether the oil in the dipstick is at the right level. If u see that the dipstick has milky oil then it means that the head gasket is busted and you should not attempt to buy the car
Make sure to thoroughly inspect the outer parts of the car. If you want to get your money’s worth then it’s best to look if there are any visible dents or misaligned panels. Also check for changes in the car paint. S it even or are there areas that are brighter than others? This means having to spend some money on repairs and a good paint job. At this point unless you are ready to pay more for the damages, then there Is no point of purchasing the car
Inspect the tires for wear and tear. The tires are a very important part of the car and can easily cause accidents if they are really worn out. In addition they should all be the same size and have visibly even wear and tear. If this is not the case then this means that there is a misalignment somewhere.
Make sure that you take the car for a test drive to ensure that the shifts and gears are working properly. If they are not working then it means paying extra money to have them fixed. In addition you can also test to see whether there are any leaks during the test drive.
Air filters ensure that the engine runs effectively. They also ensure that harmful particles that may enter the engine are removed before they harm the engine. They should effectively suck in and expel air efficiently.
Ensure that you ask the dealer as many questions as possible concerning the car. If they do not know answers to most of them then this should indicate a problem. Questions such as those that concern any up grades that had been done on the car should be properly answered. These upgrades should be done to par if at all they were necessary.
Check the brake fluid level because this ensures tat the vehicle brakes properly. The break pedals should not be unusually soft and the master cylinder should be working properly.
It is important to also take someone who understands cars well with you when going to make the purchase. They are likely to see things that you may not be able to see. This may be helpful because then you can negotiate a cheaper price for the car. In addition, they are more likely to give you a better opinion than the car dealer about the actual condition of the car.
